Whether you want to share your passion for a subject, want to learn to teach in the bustle of a school, or want to give pupils the best start in life, here are three reasons why you should train to be a teacher with Ambition Institute and our partners.

Subject integration

Are you passionate about a particular subject, and want to pass your knowledge on to the next generation of learners?

On our Teacher Training programme, you can develop your subject knowledge whilst building the foundations of your teaching practice at the same time.

If you're teaching at secondary level, at least 50% of your weekly modules will focus on your chosen secondary subject, providing an excellent opportunity for you to develop your expertise in teaching this subject.

If you're training in a primary school, your weekly modules will focus on various subjects, helping you to develop your subject-specific expertise across the full breadth of the primary curriculum.

Our world class team of programme designers have created an innovative and ambitious curriculum, based on the best research from cognitive and behavioural science around how new teachers learn. Together, they bring decades of subject-specific knowledge, building a rich and comprehensive curriculum, tailored to your area of choice, from history to modern foreign languages.

Choose where you train

Whether it’s a school in your local community, somewhere you have a connection to, or you fancy a complete change, you can choose where you train through our national network of delivery partners across England.

Our partners are made up of multi-academy trusts (MATs), local networks of schools and teaching school hubs that cover a large area across England. Click this link to explore providers in your local area using our map tool.

Being based in the same placement school throughout your training means you will get to know pupils and your school community.

By learning to teach on the job, you’ll build valuable relationships with pupils and your colleagues, and learn what your day-to-day life as a teacher will really look like.

On top of this, you'll have exciting opportunities to experience other settings through our programme of specialist placements. This could include spending time in special education needs and disability (SEND) setting, a nursery or early years setting, or even a forest school.

Experiencing teaching in these different settings will give you a really rounded experience of what it means to be a teacher.
