Give your best to your work, in the best way you work

We’re looking for people who are as passionate about our vision and mission as we are, who can bring fresh thinking and creative solutions to the organisation and the work we do.

Like many other organisations, we have adapted our ways of working significantly in response to the coronavirus pandemic. We worked fully remotely and very successfully as an organisation during that time. Now that we are hopefully through a period of enforced restrictions, we want to make sure that our future ways of working help us to be as successful as possible.

Our expectation is that we will continue to have a high proportion of remote working as we move forward: it means we can draw on the best talent across the country, and can support people with different home circumstances, needs and preferences. However, we also think it is important to bring people together, to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams, so we are exploring how best to do that through our offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester. We are therefore developing our hybrid ways of working to help us get a good balance between individual flexibility and business need.

We know that working from home has had huge benefits for many people, and we’re committed to continuing to make that possible for everyone. As we move forward, we envisage all employees spending some time together in person at team days and key events, so that there is a mix of working from home and time together in our offices or other venues.’

Impact

We believe that the quality of a child’s education shouldn’t depend on where they were born.

At Ambition Institute, you’ll be part of a bold organisation that uses evidence-informed thinking and a system-wide network to develop excellent teachers and school leaders, and make a positive impact to the lives of disadvantaged children.

A diverse environment

If you think you’d be suited to one of our roles we’d love to hear from you regardless of age, disability status, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexuality. As an organisation, we’re committed to equality and strive to create a diverse and inclusive working environment.

We have a range of internal networks set up to support the well-being of our staff, providing a safe space to share opinions, perspectives and experiences with colleagues, as well as running educational sessions and developing actions for positive change within the organisation.

There is such great provision for catering to people's needs in the way that there are wellbeing groups, mental health groups, LGBT groups, women's groups and EDI is something that is on the forefront of everyone's mind; from how we treat current staff, to when we recruit staff, through to recruiting participants to our programme.” – Jessica, Events

Think about you

When working at Ambition, your tasks will be stimulating, challenging, and varied. There are also plenty of opportunities for professional development within the organisation, allowing you to focus on your own personal progression.

I enjoy the people we work with, we have some great employees, really friendly and down to earth. The location of the Birmingham office is also great and the option of agile working is a great benefit, and helps to create a good work-life balance with families.” Janine, Programmes

Own your role

Own your role and challenge yourself to embody our ethic of Keep Getting Better. You’ll be working alongside experts that are passionate and informed about the sector, and at the forefront of educational debate.

My favourite part of my job is working with these individuals to tackle the difficult questions. The work is extremely intellectually stimulating. We get to look at problems that nobody knows the answers to.” Kyle, Associate Dean
